Salvage crates for transmog

Jinsu has lost the ability to transmog her hat into the appearance of her (leather) straw hat.  Luckily, the Mistwalker style hat has the same appearance.  Unluckily, it appears to be obtainable only from timewalking and challenge mode 5-mans.

So I set up a salvage yard to see if I could get one out of a crate.  Opened two crates this morning, and nothing came out.  Are all salvage crates empty now?

They do not contain player gear anymore, just follower upgrades, trade skill resources and I not 100% sure some vendor junk.

That's correct, no more greens come out of the crates. Most of them that appear "empty" are actually awarding garrison resources. You can get the things that Andius listed, as well as small quantities of Legion-level herbs and ore.

Before 7.0, salvage crates used to have a chance to reward transmog pieces like Streamtalker Boots, which vendored for a gold or so.  They also almost always contained a random BOE piece of equipment from a large pool of items, most of which vendored for a fair amount of gold.

The transmog items are still in the salvage crate loot table, although they are new versions which vendor for five copper.  The random BOEs are gone.
