Dark Animus

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHTKRUjcWho (Vox video guide)

This isn't a terribly difficult fight, and the difficulty is all front-loaded.  Typically your wipes will be very quick, and once you get to the point of DPSing the boss, victory is likely.

I don't think the icy-veins writeup really describes a complete 10-man starting strategy.  The Vox video has what I consider to be a good one, but it's so long-winded that I thought it would be helpful to write it down.  So:

Setup

1. Three of the Large Anima Golems will be electrified ("critically damaged"); two of these will necessarily be on the same side of the room.  To each of these, identify the two closest non-electrified small golems.  Assign a tank to each pair.  Each tank will kill their assigned small golems next to the electrified large golem.

2. For the remaining electrified large golem, assign two DPS (preferring melee) to the two closest non-electrified small golems.  Each of those DPS will kill their small golem next to the electrified large golem.

3. There are six remaining non-electrified small golems.  Assign those, one each, to a DPS or healer.  The DPS or healer's job is to get aggro on their assigned small golem at the start of the fight, but not to kill it.

The fight

4. On the pull, each person grabs their assigned small golem (or two for tanks), making sure to keep them separate from other people's golems so they don't get the acceleration buff.  The six small golems assigned in steps 1 and 2 should be killed ASAP; ranged DPS can help with this once they've picked up their own golems.  At this point there will be six active small golems with 4 anima each and three electrified (and therefore inactive) large golems with 8 anima each.

5. Load the six active small golems into a massive golem, by taking each one to the massive in turn and killing it.  At this point the massive golem will be the only active golem, with 24/36 anima.  (Note: this massive golem will not be killed during the fight.  DPS should not bother hitting it.)

6. Finish loading up the massive golem up to 36/36 anima by dragging it over to three electrified small golems and killing those (they have extremely little health, so the massive golem's tank can do this alone).  Do not kill any extra electrified golems by mistake.

7. Pick an electrified golem close to Dark Animus and kill it, activating the boss.  Blow heroism and DPS the boss while offtanking the massive golem and handling the boss's and the massive's abilities.  If you get to this point and know how to handle the abilities, you are probably going to win.

If you accidentally activate a large golem, wipe and start over.  If someone dies before their small golem is taken care of, wipe and start over.  If someone loses aggro on their small golem such that it wanders over to someone else and forms a pair, wipe and start over.

Thanks!  This is very succinct.

What happens to the anima from the first six small golems killed?

Initially, it gets loaded into the electrified large golems, which just store it up because they can't activate.

After Dark Animus is activated, he will siphon that anima out, so it will eventually wind up on the boss.

What's the priority order for who gets to be free of a small golem smacking on them sooner?  Clothies?  Healers?  Clothy healers?  (Why, yes, I do play one of the only clothy healers.  What a coincidence.)

Alliance: Fallowgrey L120 Dwarf Priest / Evring, Nelf Druid / Arkibal, Human Paladin / Gayelette, Dwarf Shaman / Haikeebah, Pandaren Monk / Zelbinion, Worgen Warrior
Horde: Rinkitink, Belf Hunter / Sootandash, L105 Tauren Druid
Misc: Kikiaru, L74 Gnome Mage / Erzula, L40 Human Rogue

First kill target will be the golem on the paladin healer. Do you know how hard it is to get the dents and scratches out of enamelled plate mail? Less time those horrid machines are pounding on me, the better.
