We have 500 points and can research something. I vote for Architecture because we eventually get a guild bank with it. There is also Politics (which I have no idea what it does), Art of War and Economy. We can research the 1st tier one of any of these. I am assuming we use up the influence points when we research something.

I can't figure out how the banners are used.  I can't tell if it's for a Guild Night of levelling or pvp, as opposed to "everyone in the guild gets one."

Without looking at the list I can tell you anything that's in the 50 pt range usually means it's a single use, usually for 24 hours but applies to the entire guild. Banners likewise I think are single use and will affect whoever is in the area where they are put down.

Guild Bank is generally the most useful thing to go for first.

Okay, gbank it is!  Now researching Architecture Level I (or whatever the pre-req is).  It'll be awhile before we have enough influence to actually make a gbank, though.

I noticed that I'd gotten a Tome of Influence, which is 1,000 influence.  So now we're working on Architecture Level II, woot!  Anyone else get one?  I don't remember where I got it -- it might've been from completing a find-all-POI-waypoint-quest goodie box.

I believe you get one as part of the game, I can't remember the various packages (basic, collector's etc) but I think everyone gets a tome with a new account now.

You also get one as part of your personal story, but I don't think you guys are high enough level yet, and sadly Falafals and I have already used all of ours.
